Football is upon us
With training camp in full swing, we’re all pretty stoked about getting football back in high gear for yet another year. Normally, at this time of the year, I am extremely stoked about getting to watch the Cowboys play on Sundays (and eventually Wednesdays is Goodell keeps it up). I’ve gone into almost every season I’ve been a fan with this anticipation. It’s like wiping the slate clean every year; putting the past behind you, and having hope yet again. It’s easy to forget the heartache of 44-6. It’s easy to forget the disappointment of 13 straight years without a playoff win. It’s easy to forget that nothing substantial has changed from the year before. Because, it’s football time yet again, and everyone starts at 0-0.
This year, I don’t have this anticipation. I forgot to erase my mental blackboard this time. I remember 44-6, and it still hurts. I remember the disappointment, and it still bites. I remember it has been 13 years without a playoff win, and that fact still sucks ass. Most of all, I remember the one thing that HAS to change for this team to ever have a decent shot at any long term winning didn’t change. It sucks for me. It would be so much easier to be able to get caught up in the hopes for a new year, new chance at winning once again. It feels like something is amiss. Something should be there, and it’s not.
Jerry Jones has taken the hope for winning completely away from me. I just wish I could wipe the memory of disappointment and anger from my mind. But, I just can’t seem to shake it this year. I will sit in front of the TV and yell and scream for my ‘Boys every single game, just like I have every year. But, that deep down hope for success has dulled, and may never come back so long as our Front Office stays status quo.
My hope now is for change. It may be an unrealistic hope, but friends, it’s the only hope we have.

I got a feelin’ this brown stain in the undershorts of Cowboys websites is going to be pretty desolate during the season, much like it has been during training camp.
Funny how it’s been nearly three months since your last update. Why has that been? Because there’s good news and something has changed within the Dallas Cowboys and even other Diogenes fans are starting to get it. Therefore, there’s nothing for you to mewl about.
Even Randy Galloway and Jean-Jacques Reeves, two of the biggest curmudgeons amongst the DFW mediots, are starting to see a change within this team for the better. How you don’t see that and adapt your expectations, I don’t know. Well, actually, I do know. You WANT to be this way. You WANT to feel like a dirty hippie “railing against the man.” You want to feel like you’re the oppressed, like something out of a deranged cocktail mixed with sports and Bertrand Russell’s “Superior Virtue of the Oppressed.” You know what you are? You’re a stumbebum phony — that’s what you are, you coelenterate you.
So, go ahead and be down on this team — see what I care. You’re a child. You’re a child who covers his eyes during a suspenseful part of a movie and says, “Tell me when it’s over.” Well, we’ll tell you when it’s over and we’ll tell you you’re a frontrunning ingrate when you try to take part in the festive atmosphere after our success.

13 years.
All of a sudden the light is going to come on?
You’re a moron if you think that one offseason with minimal improvement is going to radically change this teams will to win.
You seem to like big/obscure words. Try the word, eschew.
Because, I eschew any hope for this season, or any that will follow so long as Jerry is the GM of this team.
Posted by Iamtdg | August 10, 2009 6:15 pmCut out the rant and the only hard evidence provided by The Emperor is the glimmer of optimism from two journalists during training camp.
You seem to think that this overcomes thirteen years of failure.
Forget the draft failures of Kavika Pittman, Quincy Carter, Tony Dixon, Dwayne Goodrich, trading up for David LaFleur, Joey Galloway trade, etc…
Forget the hiring of Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, OC Jason Garrett before HC Wade Phillips…
Forget the whoring out of our team’s focus with Hard Knocks (twice) and 4th & Long…
Yes, forget all that because two journalists have expressed some optimism during training camp. It’s easy to be hopeful when the opponent isn’t on the field.
However, last I remember, our awesome team was laughed off the field 44-6.
Maybe Jerry Jones would be a better GM if he wasn’t filming commercials for Papa John’s.
Posted by phildominator | August 12, 2009 4:34 pmHow can you “rebel” from fandom? Simply root for something else. Yes, it’s that easy. Unless, of course, you just like to complain. Maybe you’re related to my wifes mother.

We have a variety of tickets to shows, concerts, and sporting events and would choose the links that are relevant to your site. We are open to a variety of other forms of advertising as well, including a banner ad and hosted articles.
Please respond if you are interested. I look forward to reading your response.
