Jerry says 9-7 is hopeful

Wednesday, 18 February 2009

In a recent interview, Jerry said that 9-7 can be good enough. December swoons seem to be good enough. We can sneak by to 9-7 and just hope that we make the playoffs and actually win one.  This is the attitude that is being passed down to all of the players.  They are reading him when he is reported as saying this type thing.  I’m sure they are proud, and will continue playing as they always have for our fake GM.

Another Jerry quote:

Wednesday, 18 February 2009

“I am concerned. I want them to understand the logic. It’s very important that the fans don’t think I just don’t care (what they think).”

If Jerry truly felt this way, he would listen now.  Dissension is higher than it’s ever been.  Pay attention, Jerry, the fans are telling you what they want.

You wanted Jerry fired, well here’s a site devoted to it

Jean-Jacques Taylor E-mail News tips

Frankly, I wondered how long it would take to start a fire Jerry site. It took a little longer than expected, but one fan has apparently had enough.

He can’t take the losing. And the disgraceful performances. And the bad trades. And the whining.

Hey, if you want Jerry to fire himself go here.

Awesome Jerry Quote

Friday, 6 February 2009

From time to time I’ll post a quote from the fearless leader of the Dallas Cowboys that drive home just how clueless Jerry really is.

Some of the things this man says are unbelievable.

Enjoy:

“Not one time with any head coach in 23 years does anyone have an authority to hire a football player, fire a football player, draft a football player, hire a coach, an assistant coach,” Jerry said. “In 20 years, not one coach has ever had it. I’ve always had it. I want to make that clear.”

Yeah, you see…. that’s kinda the problem Jerry.

Situation – The Failure That Is Our Dallas Cowboys

Thursday, 5 February 2009

- 13 years without a playoff win.
- Haven’t had a winning record in December since 1996.
- Embarrassing circus that engulfs this franchise. – Reality TV shows, etc.
-A team without passion or leaders.

THE PROBLEM

A horrible General Manager. A General Manager shapes, molds and creates the team. One of the most important positions in a football franchise, and now is the time for a new one.

GM Jerry Jones simply is insufficient because of these two reasons:

1. Jerry himself is a subpar team developer/personnel guy, and

2. Jerry refuses to relinquish control.

*** Jerry can’t build a winner, but refuses to relinquish control to someone who can build a winner.

A new head coach or assistant coach does little because: (more…)

Great Owner/Horrible GM?!

Thursday, 5 February 2009

Welcome to Cowboys Fan Rebellion.

Allow me to introduce myself.

Name’s EZ. I co-own http://www.dallascowboyscentral.com , a Cowboys fan site that has been up and running for close to five years now. We aren’t the biggest by a long shot (nor do we desire to be) but we like to think of ourselves as the best, most intelligent, and most honest Cowboys fan forum around.

Until recently, Cowboy fans who would say out loud that Jerry Jones was the biggest problem with the organization were far and few between. The large majority of us at the DCC have been trumpeting that fact since the site opened.

You read around various fan boards and you get a lot of “You know, Jerry Jones is a great, great owner, but he’s not a very good General Manager.”

Yeah, see that’s where we disagree.

A great owner doesn’t let a horrible general manager run his team into the ground. And that’s what has happened. We have replaced the Arizona Cardinals as the laughingstock of the NFC.

And you have Jerry Jones to thank for it.

I’m not much of a writer as you no doubt have already been able to deduce, so I won’t go on for a couple more paragraphs trying to convince you that I am.

I just wanted to introduce myself, and welcome anyone who reads this blog to come over to Dallas Cowboys Central if they would like to discuss the one big problem that the Dallas Cowboys have had for the last decade plus. The one constant:

Jerry Jones. Horrible owner, even worse GM.

The Time Is Now

Monday, 2 February 2009

On February 25, 1989 this team was sold into slavery. Jerry Jones began his era as the owner of the Dallas Cowboys with an almost foreshadowing of moves. He immediately fired the legend of a coach in Tom Landry. This move caused great discontent among a lot of fans of the team. Most believed that Landry was on his way out and that the league had passed him by, but also thought that his departure from this team could have happened in a much more appropriate way. This began what has become a fan’s nightmare of an era. The organization is caught in a stranglehold, and is not soon to be released.

I won’t go into any great detail about season to season guffaws, or bumbled moves on Jerry’s part. If you’re reading this, you already know the grim particulars and shouldn’t have to read about them again. I know I’ve tried to forget them myself. What I do want share are some very interesting facts.

No playoff wins in 13 years. (We are one of only 3 NFL teams to do this. Yes, the Oakland Raiders have won a playoff game since we have)

Without Jimmy Johnson, we would be staring at 30 years since a Super Bowl win. (more…)
